Asset Management Project Manager
**Summary of Position Duties:**
This position is responsible for leading the overall strategy, project management and coordination of the Asset Management (AM) Program across MPCs entire service territory. This includes leading efforts to develop a strategy, an action plan with all key stakeholders (including internal and external) and ensuring the overall implementation will meet program goals. In addition to AM, this role plays a key part in leading proactive storm season preparation efforts for Mississippi Power, as well as leads and project manages special projects related to Distribution. Primary work location is set at the Operations Center in Gulfport, MS. There will be flexibility in the day-to-day work location, based on project locations and asset management needs.
The successful candidate must demonstrate the ability to work in a team environment across multiple organizations and be able to successfully manage multiple competing priorities and initiatives.
**Primary Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to):**
+ Coordinate and lead MPC-wide Asset Management Strategy including the inspection plan for each program, proactive planning and coordinating with all necessary groups to implement and complete required deadlines.
+ Ensure the accomplishment of business goals and objectives through effective planning, organizing, scheduling, and monitoring of work activities.
+ Develop positive working relationships to effectively coordinate work activities.
+ Support the company's goals and represent the company positively and professionally.
+ Represent MPC in system wide efforts related to Asset Management.
+ Lead efforts related to annual Storm Preparation including MPC wide storm roles and DARC Committee
+ Provide support and guidance in the implementation of Grid Critical Manpower along with the manpower storm team.
+ Provide assistance and be available in emergency storm restoration as required and/or needed.
+ Partner with the Power Delivery Contracts team in the management of the Power Delivery Distribution Procedures Program.
**Qualifications:**
+ Bachelors Degree required, engineering degree preferred
+ Knowledge of utility asset management principles and processes preferred
+ Power Delivery Transmission or Distribution field experience preferred
+ Demonstrated ability and proficiency in principles of project management.
+ Understanding of engineering theories and principles.
+ Understanding of practices of researching engineering and design issues, evaluating alternatives, making sound recommendations, and preparing and presenting recommendations.
+ Demonstrated understanding of electric utility and facility design standards, specifications, and requirements for electrical projects, and the ability to produce construction documents.
+ Ability to multi-task and meet required deadlines in a matrixed organization.
+ Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to present information, facilitate meetings, and provide direction to others.
**Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:**
+ Strong project management and organizational skills.
+ Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
+ Strong technical writing skills preferred.
+ Proficient in anticipating and planning for future needs to successfully meet company goals.
