Welder/ Metal Fabricator

Job Summary

Insight Globals client is seeking a skilled Metal Fabricator to join their sign shop team. This role involves cutting, shaping, assembling, and installing metal components based on technical drawings and specifications. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with aluminum fabrication, welding techniques, and fabrication tools to produce high-quality signage and structural elements.

Key Responsibilities

Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine fabrication requirements.

Measure, cut, and shape metal materials using hand tools, machines, and welding equipment.

Assemble metal parts by welding, bolting, or riveting according to project plans.

Inspect finished products to ensure quality and adherence to specifications.

Operate and maintain fabrication equipment safely and efficiently.

Collaborate with engineers, designers, and other trades to complete projects on time.

Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment.

Troubleshoot and resolve fabrication issues as they arise..

Skills and Requirements

Required Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of experience in metal fabrication, specifically with aluminum.

2 years of MIG (Metal Inert Gas) welding experience.

2 years of TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas) welding experience.

Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings.

Knowledge of metal properties and fabrication materials.

Ability to operate fabrication machinery safely.

Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity.

Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy materials and work in various positions.

High school diploma or equivalent. Technical certification or completion of a fabrication apprenticeship.

Experience working in a sign shop or similar production environment.

Familiarity with CNC equipment or automated fabrication tools.

Ability to contribute to process improvements or suggest fabrication efficiencies. Technical certification or completion of a fabrication apprenticeship.
