Diesel Mechanic**- \$500.00 Bonus available Location: MART Facility,

seeking a skilled and reliable Diesel Mechanic to join our busy transit

garage. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and

repairing transit buses, ensuring they operate safely and efficiently.

The role requires a strong knowledge of Cummins engines, Allison

transmissions, and various vehicle systems. The ideal candidate will be

detail-oriented, possess excellent diagnostic skills, and be committed

to delivering high-quality service.* **Key Responsibilities:** -Perform

routine preventative maintenance on transit buses and fleet vehicles

-Diagnose and repair issues with diesel engines, transmissions,

suspension systems, air brakes, steering systems, and hydraulic

components -Conduct electrical system repairs and troubleshooting

-Perform welding and metal fabrication as necessary -Repair and maintain

air conditioning systems, utilizing certification in A/C repair -Use

diagnostic scanners and other testing equipment to identify vehicle

faults -Ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies

-Maintain accurate work records and documentation of repairs and

services performed -Assist in maintaining a safe, clean, and organized

work environment **Qualifications & Experience:** -Proven experience

working on Cummins engines and Allison transmissions preferred -Transit

bus or heavy-duty vehicle repair experience is highly preferred

-Certification in air conditioning repair is required -Familiarity with

diagnostic scanners and electronic diagnostic tools -Ability to perform

electrical system repairs, welding, and hydraulic work -Must have own

set of tools suitable for diesel and bus repairs -Valid Massachusetts

CDL license, Class B, with airbrake and DPU Certificates required

-Ability to perform physically demanding tasks and work in various

environmental conditions **Certifications & Licensing:** -Valid

Massachusetts CDL Class B license with airbrake and DPU Certification

-A/C repair certification **Physical & Background Checks:** -Must pass a

physical exam, drug screening, and CORI background check **Compensation

& Benefits:** -Hourly rate up to \$31.00, commensurate with experience
