ManTech seeks a highly motivated and skilled Electrical Engineer to join our team in Port Hueneme, CA. This is an onsite position.

This role supports the Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) Underway Replenishment (UNREP) Division in maintaining, improving, modifying, and upgrading existing UNREP station equipment. As an Electrical Engineer, you will have the opportunity to contribute to system design, prototyping, test and evaluation, and fielding of UNREP equipment while also maintaining critical at sea logistics capabilities that are vital for the US Navy. This is an On-Site position.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Serve as a subject matter expert in UNREP procedures and equipment operation

  • Assess and support reparability, maintainability, and obsolescence issues across UNREP systems

  • Use programs such as AutoCAD and SolidWorks to design, draft, and/or modify designs of equipment

  • Collaborate with subcontractors, senior engineers, and senior technicians in design projects

  • Complete reviews of engineering drawings and schematics for accuracy and completeness

  • Complete engineering calculations related to loads and forces applied during UNREP system operation at sea

  • Participate in Engineering Change Proposal teams to find solutions for in use systems and propose changes to documentation as needed

  • Develop and/or review Design Specifications for various UNREP systems and associated logistics requirements

  • Complete ship checks of UNREP sites for future installations

  • Ensure compliance with all NAVSEA and shipyard installation requirements

  • Must have a valid US Passport and willing to travel to site locations and underway on a ship for testing and training (up to 25%)

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Or equivalent years of experience performing related electrical duties in lieu of degree

  • 5+ years of relevant work experience in engineering projects

  • 3+ years of experience in design involving Variable Frequency Drives and Programmable Logic Controllers

  • 2+ years of experience in Electro-Magnetic Interference design and testing

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with UNREP or other Navy machinery

  • Experience in industrial marine environment can be substituted for Navy experience

  • Familiarity with Shipyard and NAVSEA installation requirements and supporting documentation

  • Proficiency with reading and interpreting ship schematics, wiring lists, and technical manuals

  • Confidence working in multiple locations (i.e. office, shop, ship, etc.)

  • Experience working with Control Systems

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), Adobe Acrobat, SolidWorks, and AutoCAD

Clearance Requirements:

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and able to obtain and maintain an active Secret clearance.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to remain in a stationary position for 50% of the time.

  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.

  • Ability to climb multiple flights of stairs, planks, or galleyways and work in confined spaces.

  • Ability to operate standard office equipment (computers, printers, etc.).

  • Capability to go onboard ships and work in an industrial and operational environment.

  • Ability to climb ladders and go through scuttles onboard vessels.

The projected compensation range for this position is $75,700.00-$126,300.00. There are differentiating factors that can impact a final salary/hourly rate, including, but not limited to, Contract Wage Determination, relevant work experience, skills and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location (For Remote Opportunities), education and certifications as well as Federal Government Contract Labor categories.
