Project Structural Engineer (Civil Engineer) at SmartLam NA Enterprises US, LLC in Dothan, AL.**
Engineering design and detailing of Mass Timber projects to include, but not limited to, Specialty Structural Engineering services, deferred engineering submittal, engineering consulting to internal and external stakeholders, preliminary engineering, project specific design assistance support to the Design Team and internal technical document development. Perform Finite Element Analysis (FEA) modeling, analysis and design of Mass Timber projects using Dlubal FEA Software and custom tools. Develop clear and organized project specific engineering calculation packages. Support the management of outsourced engineering and detailing services. Provide technical expertise in Mass Timber products, engineering concepts, and detailing. Support the department with the development of technical documents, white papers, and calculations templates. Support Sales staff with technical review of projects, preliminary designs, documentation and client management. Support Project Managers with the successful delivery of Mass Timber projects. Support Research and Development with technical document review, testing, and product development. Support Design-Drafting staff with the development of Mass Timber submittal drawings, detailing of projects, development of production documents, and overall design management of projects. Support the coordination of project information with project design team (architect, engineer, contractor). Manage and Track project Request For Information (RFIs).
Telecommuting is permitted; 10% travel to Dothan, AL and Columbia Falls, MT and various unanticipated locations throughout U.S.
Requires: Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Civil or Structural Engineering, or related engineering field plus twenty-four (24) months experience as a Civil or Structural Engineer, Project Manager, Estimator, or related occupation. Education or experience must include:
1. Finite Element Analysis (FEA) software; 2. AutoCAD; 3. Wood construction methodology; 4. Preparation of construction documents;
Salary offered: $90,000.00.
