PRIMARY SCOPE

The Trencher Operator must be able to operate a scraper/loader/dozer/trencher according to project specifications. The individual will be responsible for servicing and maintaining equipment daily. Position requires extensive travel and living at or near job sites. Position also requires passing a background check to gain access to a government worksite.

PRIMARY DUTIES

  • Safety, Safety, Safety. Comply with all company policies, procedures and standards of safety
  • Operate trenchers with a 16-18 inch cut width
  • Operate equipment efficiently to maintain production goals
  • Perform general maintenance, repair, and service equipment as required or directed by supervisor
  • Assist with setup and tear down of plants
  • Perform general maintenance, repair, and service equipment as required or directed by supervisor
  • General housekeeping of equipment and plant daily or as directed by supervisor.
  • This individual must be able to lift objects weighing 80 lb. on a regular basis
  • The use of a shovel to move material will be necessary
  • Perform all duties within safety guidelines set up by OSHA and company policy
  • Perform pre-shift inspections on equipment prior to startup
  • Perform other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS

  • Applicants must be at least 18 years old
  • Must have experience operating trenchers with a 16-18 inch cut width
  • Applicants must be able to pass Government Background Check for job site access
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test and physical is required
  • MSHA part 46 and/or part 48 or willingness to obtain certification - company will pay for certification
  • Able to operate equipment efficiently to maintain project specifications
  • Mechanical knowledge of equipment and being able to perform routine maintenance
  • Basic knowledge of welding and using a cutting torch
  • Ability to complete work tasks under various adverse weather conditions including heat above 100 degrees, cold, rain, and snow
  • Applicants must work well in a team environment
  • Position requires extensive travel and living at or near job sites
