Senior Estimator

Morrow-Meadows Corporation is accepting applications for a full-time Senior Estimator for its Electrical Division in City of Industry, CA.

Responsibilities:

Analyze electrical, mechanical, architectural drawings and other documents to prepare detailed estimates utilizing current estimating software

Manage large and/or multiple project estimates independently

Strategize with clients, vendors, and personnel in other departments to formulate estimates

Lead a team of junior estimators on a project pursuit

Build strong relationships with customers, attend, and coordinate social functions as required

Work with the Business Development Manager, visit clients, and assist with business promotions (including events that take place outside normal business hours)

Prepare detailed proposals and bid forms as required by our customers

Review estimates and proposal letter with Chief Estimator before submission

Support preconstruction team with cost estimates in design pursuits

Prepare updated budgets for awarded preconstruction projects

Review contracts on awarded jobs and assure the contracts include our exclusions, clarifications, and reflect proposal scope

See that all RFP documents, quotes, other pertinent estimating documents are properly filed and always organized

Assist with negotiating prices and purchases as necessary

Organize and lead kick off/hand off meetings on awarded projects

Prepare and submit pre-bid RFI's and maintain log

Identify qualified suppliers/subcontractors, solicit quotes, and review for completeness

Participate in job walks and pre-bid meetings

Provide value engineering and cost alternatives as necessary

Participate in post-bid interview preparation and attend post-bid interview with clients to review estimates

Participate in current technology training to assure estimating at maximum efficiency and accuracy

Participate in LEAN, DBIA, etc. training as required

Train and mentor junior estimating staff as necessary

Requirements:

Minimum 5-7 years' experience in the electrical construction industry

Previous estimating experience required including projects up to $15 million in electrical value

Strong electrical knowledge in commercial construction including low voltage systems

Proficient in Microsoft Office, Estimating Systems (ACCUBID Preferred), and Bluebeam

Customer focused

Strong leadership and managerial skills

Team oriented and able to work well with others

Detail oriented and organized

Strong communications skills

Ability to juggle multiple tasks at the same time

Ability to work with tight schedules/deadlines

Electrical engineering familiarity preferred

Ability to work late when necessary

Familiarity with the electric code

The salary range for this position is: $135,000.00-$190,000.00. Compensation offered may vary based on work location, experience, qualifications, specialty, training, and market and business considerations, among other factors.
