Fire Alarm Technician Position
The function of this position is to provide reliable, high quality customer support through on-site inspecting, installing, repairing, and/or replacing fire alarm equipment as well as conducting preventative maintenance services pertaining to many different manufacturers' equipment.
Job Responsibilities
Learn/Assist with the service, repairs, installation and maintenance of fire protection alarm systems for commercial application (including piping, valves, and accessories).
Must prepare accurate and timely documentation for work performed, complete monthly vehicle reports, and maintain truck inventory to ensure proper response to customers' needs.
Must adhere to company safety policies and procedures.
Must communicate effectively - both verbally and in writing.
Must ensure a positive customer experience.
Must have a strong work ethic.
Must be detail oriented.
Job Qualifications
Must have FAL any additional licenses are a plus.
Service experience
Technical aptitude
Strong verbal communication
Customer-focused and customer-driven mindset
Thrive in the face of uncertainty
Valid driver's license
High School degree or the equivalent
Electronic Trade School training is a plus
It is preferable to have a Journeyman's License but not necessary with a minimum 2 years of related experience preferably within the life safety industry, apprenticeship is the exception - will train.
Must obtain and retain any licenses that are required by state and/or local codes.
Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test, background, and reference check.
Physical Requirements & Work Environment
Stand; walk; sit; twist; use hands to handle; reach with hands and arms; push; pull; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk and hear.
Use vision abilities including close, distance, peripheral, depth, and color.
Work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions/circumstances such as with ladders, scaffolding, high lift equipment, wires, ducts, crawl spaces, attics, above ceilings, etc.
Lift, move, and hold up to approximately 50 lbs.
Must be able to work a full-time, flexible schedule with on call availability and must be able to travel on short notice.
Must be able to drive a motor vehicle (day and evenings) for extended time periods.
