CAD Drafter

CAD DRAFTER Summary of Position Operates Computer Aided Design (CAD) computer system, including creating, updating and modifying concrete products; and performs manual drafting. Essential Duties Creates CAD drawings for engineering projects. Creates and modifies maps for special assignments. Incorporates subdivision plats and drawing files into maps. Copies project drawings. Creates manual drawings for engineering projects. Performs other related duties, as assigned. Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Knowledge of : CAD and manual drafting principles, practices, methods and techniques and general civil/structural engineering principles. Skill/Ability to : demonstrate proficiency in both oral and written communication; read and interpret construction drawings and maps; prepare accurate detailed drawings from data supplied by field surveys; operate computer using standard drafting software packages, plotters; develop CAD and manual drawings for engineering projects; maintain complete, readily accessible files and records of survey office reports; and establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers and outside survey and drafting supply vendors. Acceptable Experience and Training Associate's degree or completion of a technical trade school in CAD, drafting or related field, plus at least three years of related work experience; or any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
