Position: Welder Pay Rate: Competitive Hourly Wage (Depending on Experience) + safety bonus Schedule: 4 on 3 off, 10-hour shifts, days only. OT available Area: Northern Nevada - Battle Mountain Duties and Responsibilities Under the direction of the maintenance superintendent, welders are responsible for fabricating, maintaining, and performing major metal repairs on mining equipment. Those responsibilities include (but are not limited to): Welding, cutting, and fabrication emphasizing on structural frame and bucket repairs Identify and troubleshoot welding and equipment issues Operation of various welding equipment, including air arc, oxyacetylene, TIG, MIG, stick, and plasma Perform a high level of quality following guidelines from OEM and SMD standards Maintain and repair welding equipment, including torches, machines, and hand tools Read and interpret schematics and work orders to ensure accurate fabrication and repairs Conduct thorough pre and post work inspections. Inspect welds for defects and ensure they meet required specifications Hazard recognition and mitigation Participation in risk assessments and following SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) Experience and Qualification Requirements Applicants must: Work with a safety-first mind set and maintain situational awareness at all times. Follow safety procedures, including hot work. Have experience with heavy, mining equipment metal repairs. Have the ability to weld, use a cutting torch, and grinder. Be proficient in interpreting schematics, as well as ability to redline or draft complete schematics. Have the ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. and work in year-round weather conditions. Have excellent work area housekeeping habits.
