Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Journeyman Welder and Fitter to join our team, specializing in structural steel and bridge projects. The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience in structural welding and fitting and proficient blueprint reading skills.
Position responsibilities include:
1. Perform welding, layout and fitting of structural steel components and bridge girders w/speed and accuracy without supervision.
2. Interpret and understand complex blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications related to structural steel and bridge projects.
3. Must identify steel shapes, layout and fit beams, columns, show weld size, piece marks, direction marks, etc.
4. Utilize various tools and equipment such as welding machines, grinders, cutting torches, overhead cranes and measuring instruments to accomplish fitting tasks.
5. Conduct quality checks on completed work to ensure accuracy, alignment, and adherence to project requirements.
6. Collaborate with team members, including welders, fabricators, and project managers, to meet project deadlines and objectives.
7. Maintain a safe and organized work environment, adhering to all safety protocols and regulations.
8. Assist in troubleshooting and problem-solving during the fabrication and installation process.
