Full job description: Overview: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Lead Carpenter to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in carpentry and construction, showcasing expertise in various techniques and tools. As a Lead Carpenter, you will play a crucial role in overseeing projects, ensuring high-quality workmanship, and mentoring junior carpenters. This position requires a keen eye for detail, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to read and interpret schematics. Responsibilities: Supervise and coordinate carpentry projects from start to finish, ensuring adherence to timelines and specifications. Perform various carpentry tasks including door hanging, concrete forming, and restoration work. Operate power tools safely and efficiently while maintaining a clean work environment. Interpret blueprints and schematics to execute precise measurements and cuts. Ensure all work is plumb, level, and square according to industry standards. Collaborate with other trades such as electrical teams to ensure seamless project integration. Conduct construction estimating for project materials and labor needs. Mentor junior carpenters, providing guidance on best practices and techniques. Experience: Proven experience as a carpenter with a strong portfolio of completed projects. Familiarity with the restoration industry is highly desirable. Proficient in using various power tools and equipment safely. Experience with CNC machinery is a plus. Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings effectively. Strong understanding of construction estimating processes. Excellent communication skills with the ability to work well in a team environment.
