Structural Engineering III

AECOM Technical Services, Inc., Structural Engineering III, Seattle, WA: Perform specific and limited portions of a broader assignment of an experienced engineer. Gather and correlate basic engineering data using established and well-defined procedures. Work on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving calculations and complex tasks. Propose approach to solve new problems encountered. Identify discrepancies in results. Provide guidance to entry-level & mid-level engineers. Perform work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with moderate supervision. Perform structural analysis and design for bridges with varying complexity using finite element software programs such as CSi Bridge, LEAP Concrete, FB-Multipier, MIDAS. Implement design standards from AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications, Washington DOT Bridge Design Manual, AISC Steel Manual and other standard codes. Gather engineering data by reviewing design standards, existing plans, and other project documentation. Collaborate with senior engineers in preparing construction documents such as engineering calculations, construction plans, technical special provisions, and cost estimates. Guide CAD technicians to create construction plans. Guide entry-level and mid-level engineers with software programs and engineering calculations. Perform QA/QC to identify discrepancies and recommend necessary changes. Review shop drawings and respond to contractor/agency comments. Perform shop drawing reviews and collaborate with contractors on design. May telecommute. Salary range: $121,181 - $153,881.32 per year. Full-time. Equal Opportunity / Affirmative Action Employer.
