**Compensation**
The base hourly rate for this position is \$26.16.

This is a skilled labor position working to install, repair and maintain
machinery and mechanical equipment. The job requires that the employee
be able to work safely and follow safety rules. Employee must be
dependable, able to follow instructions and directions, according to
established operating procedures. The employee must perform the

**Essential Duties and Responsibilities**
The hourly job classification system for the Johns Manville Ruston, LA
Facility Maintenance Mechanic is based on a progressive structure. Job
classifications and pay levels are based upon demonstrated skill sets.
- Supports and promotes safe practices and environmental commitments
in alignment with company commitments, policies, and compliance
requirements
- Wears all personal protective equipment as required, including but
not limited to protective shoes, glasses, ear plugs, bump cap or
hard hat, gloves, dust mask or respirator
- Must know, understand, and perform all plant and departmental safety
regulations and procedures and immediately reports any hazardous
conditions
- Performs safety observations and complete training assignments
- Must know and understand company policies, regulations, and
procedures regarding employee conduct and attendance
- Excellent attendance, attitude and motivation must be demonstrated
to advance to the next level
- Expected to perform job duties independent of direct supervision
- Assist other maintenance personnel as needed
- Troubleshooting by use of testing equipment and other measuring
techniques
- Manage down time by coordinating with production department
personnel on routine preventative and predictive maintenance
techniques
- Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts
using hand and power tools
- Make adjustments to functional parts of equipment and control
systems
- Fabricate repair parts using shop equipment (welding equipment,
cutting equipment, machine tools)
- Maintain and test Boiler, CO2 House, Air Compressors, and plant
critical systems
- Layout, assemble, install, and maintain pipe systems, pipe supports,
and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment for steam, hot water,
heating, and cooling for process systems
- Replace Indurator O-Rings and mold car bearings
- Replace and/or adjust oven door cables
- Repair and/or replace limit switches
- Familiarity with Preventative and Predictive Maintenance
- Responsible for execution of MRO work orders which includes ente ing
into SAP
- Ability to effectively communicate mechanical issues when
troubleshooting equipment/issues for internal customers
- Must have own tools

- Understand Mold Station equipment (how it runs and how to keep it
running)
- Understand indurators and successfully send up indurators through
complete cycle
- Mold changes and adjustments and adjustments to mold cores
- Hydraulics: change hydraulic cylinders and hydraulic pumps
- Rebuild pumps and know when and how to change
- Bearing replacement
- Replace hoses in hose pumps
- Decision making on repairing vs replacing
- Required to respond to call outs and work the call out requests
- Conserve resources by efficient use of equipment and supplies needed
to achieve results
- Adjust cores and understand how to operate mold state controls
- Run tests on boiler; inspect sewer system, CO2 House, Inspect Air
Compressors
- Responsible for operating in conformance with the ISO certifications
held by the Ruston facility
- Performs other duties as directed
