SUMMARY:

Maintains two training tracks at the Thoroughbred Center by performing the following duties personally.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Waters training tracks at various times during the day or night using water truck or tractor and water wagon.
  • Works the training tracks at various times during the day and night to prevent freezing in the winter months.
  • Grooms the training tracks to be ready for open by 6 am each morning.
  • Conducts basic maintenance on tractors and other equipment as needed.
  • Operates various track equipment to maintain the tracks such as tractors, roller, floats, conditioner, etc
  • Recognizes drainage problems and makes sure excess water is removed from the track.
  • Cleans track drains as necessary.

Must be able to obtain Kentucky State Racing Commission license
