POSITION SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE:

Seeking a skilled and motivated CAD Drafter/Detailer to join our team.

As a CAD Drafter, you will be responsible for efficiently and accurately creating fully dimensioned shop drawings and assembly instructions for frames and other custom fabricated structures based on client specifications as well as maintaining company standards. In addition, you may be tasked with proposing design solutions based on given criteria.

You will work closely with the Design Technician and CAD Drafter to ensure the creation of comprehensive documentation, including 3D illustrations of the merchandise.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Utilize computer-aided design using Autodesk AutoCAD software to create detailed shop drawings and assembly instructions for frames and other fabricated structures.

Must be able to draw in 2D and 3D

Interpret client specifications and accurately depict fully dimensioned frames based on provided information.

Collaborate with the Design Technician and CAD Drafter to propose design solutions when required.

Develop complete sets of documentation, including comprehensive shop drawings and assembly instructions.

Create 3D illustrations of the merchandise to enhance visual understanding.

Set up Job Path Cutting files for Digital department when needed.

Participate in product development projects as required, contributing to the design and improvement of various items.

Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including designers, engineers, and project managers.

Ensure accuracy, efficiency, and adherence to project timelines.

COMPETENCIES:

High proficiency in CAD software (specifically Autodesk AutoCAD or Autodesk Inventor).

Firm grasp of computer/graphics/AutoCAD/3D terminology

Understands drawing standards, drawing views and best practices

Strong technical and spatial visualization skills.

Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in creating dimensioned drawings.

Ability to interpret and implement client specifications effectively.

Familiarity with manufacturing processes and materials used in frame fabrication and metal fabrication is a plus.

Experience in vendor tradeshow type set ups is a plus!

Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Prior experience in a similar role is preferred.

Basics of industrial Safety, health and environmental. Avoid injuries and must ask for help from other suitable employees when lifting heavy objects over 50 lbs. and/or larger dimensions in assess of 47 inches or more. Using proper lifting techniques and proper lifting equipment.

SOFTWARE REQUIRMENT:

AutoCAD, Solid Works, Microsoft Office, Outlook, Adobe Photoshop/illustrator (preferable but not required)
