Job Description

We are a fast-growing automation company specializing in advanced robotic integration, custom automation systems, and high-precision assembly solutions. Our expertise spans multiple industries, with a strong focus on munitions assembly, explosives handling, and defense-related manufacturing automation. We're seeking a seasoned Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead the mechanical design, development, and deployment of automated systems for demanding high-stakes environments.

Responsibilities

  • Design, integrate, and improve custom automation equipment with a focus on munitions assembly and robotic and conveyor-based systems.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards, particularly in hazardous environments.
  • Manage a team of 4-5 engineers, fostering a collaborative and productive work atmosphere.
  • Review and finalize designs using Solidworks, ensuring manufacturability and adherence to project specifications.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve design issues during the build phase, adapting to customer-specific tolerances.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-impact, mission-critical automation projects.
Essential Skills
  • High level of technical knowledge in mechanical engineering.
  • Proficiency in Solidworks and familiarity with FEA tools.
  • Experience with project management and people management.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • 8-15 years of experience in mechanical engineering.
  • Working knowledge of pneumatic/hydraulic systems, motion systems, and safety interlocks.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience in munitions or explosives manufacturing/assembly is ideal, but open to other industries.
  • Experience with robotic integration and custom automation machinery.
  • Understanding of conveyor and material handling systems.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.
  • US citizenship is required.

This position is fully onsite and involves working in a small, family-friendly company environment with 7 engineering team members. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $48.00 - $68.00/hr.
