Job Description We are seeking a Civil Engineering Technician to join our team. Under close supervision, you will perform basic functions requiring technical knowledge and use of electronic applications, standards, and document control processes/procedures in support of creating or modifying deliverables. Your role will involve developing site drainage, grading, and utility plans using Autodesk Civil 3D and Bentley Microstation. You will support client needs related to water, wastewater, linear pipelines, and other water-related solutions. Basic experience with Civil 3D is required, particularly in using pipe/pressure networks, proposed grading surfaces, and plan and profile development. Responsibilities
- Understand and implement current engineering standards, systems, document control, departmental guides, and company policies and procedures.
- Proactively apply knowledge of company standards to ensure deliverables are accurate and compliant, supporting continuous improvement and change management efforts.
- Review design inputs to ensure consistency and compliance with project-specific codes and standards.
- Broaden the use of applications to continuously evaluate and improve methods, processes, and procedures used to accomplish deliverables.
- Create and develop deliverables based on a variety of design inputs and perform basic computations such as material quantity estimates and dimensional checks.
- Coordinate deliverables with other groups involved in the same project to minimize interference or errors, and support field activities.
- Focus on the needs of internal clients while understanding external clients' main interests and drivers.
- Proactively seek and share knowledge of the latest technologies and processes, applying judgment and making decisions regarding deliverables and input interpretation.
- May provide supervision, work direction, and guidance to others, contributing to career development and mentoring.
- 1 year of experience utilizing AutoCAD for civil engineering tasks.
- Diploma or Associate's degree in a related field.
- Experience with grading, land development, and design.
- Experience utilizing AutoCAD for grading and/or pipe or pressure networks.
- Strong communication skills within a team.
- Willingness and ability to learn from colleagues and senior technicians.
