Summary: Assume the responsibilities of the Injection Molding Supervisor in their absence when necessary, and to daily manage the Mold Technicians safety and responsibilities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

This position reports directly to and will receive direction from the Injection Molding Supervisor. The primary responsibility of the Assistant Injection Molding Supervisor is to safely and efficiently perform top-quality operational duties on a daily basis which include (but are not limited to) the following:

• Assume organizational responsibility for Mold Technicians and implement a culture of excellence (visible leadership)
• Maintains a safe, clean work area and follow all established safety guidelines and 5S, ensuring conformance with OSHA
• Completes production plan by scheduling and assigning personnel
• Balance labor according to workload
• Maintains quality by establishing and enforcing organization standards
• Maintains compliance with established policies and procedures
• Ensures on-time completion of job orders
• Sets expectations and holds employees accountable to those expectations
• Responsible for Conflict Resolution on shift
• Responsible for Root Cause Analysis of safety incidents, quality incidents, and production inefficiencies
• Support and Implement Continuous Improvement Projects
• Responsible for accurate attendance time recordings and disciplinary actions
• Responsible for unloading of material from train cars if Grinder is not present
• Timely completion of shift-end reports and other documentation as required
• Drive process improvements, i.e. set-up time reduction, scrap reduction, and increased through -puts.
• Ensure all set-ups and changeovers are performed efficiently and effectively.
• Supports training initiatives
• Manages each employees Wage Classification progression ensuring that each requirement is met
• Complete performance reviews for each employee annually

Supervisory Responsibilities: Process Mold Technicians

Education and/or Experience:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 3+ years of experience of Injection Molding processing preferred
• Knowledge of industry specific equipment used in injection molding preferred
• Must possess effective communication skills with the ability to remain calm and focused under stressful situations
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize and manage time efficiently
• Results driven with ability to manage change while creating a positive environment
• Bias for Action
• Beginner PC Skills (Excel, Microsoft AX, Preferred)

Language Skills : English

Mathematical Skills: Candidate must possess basic math skills

Reasoning Ability Must be able to take complex and diverse information or situations which have several probable correct paths and compile information in a manner that allows problems to be solved in a reasonable fashion.

Must be able to operate a PIV and move materials with overhead cranes. Ability to walk and/or stand for a twelve hour period at a time. Equipment used pallet jacks, lifting devices, PIV, and fall protection equipment.
