Position Specific Description
NextEra Energy's Power Generation Division (PGD) is seeking an experienced individual for a Project Manager/Engineer position (Reliability and Predictive Analytics-focused) in our PGD Solar and Storage Engineering and Operating Support Services (EOSS) Team. Employees in this job will plan, monitor, and manage large-scale internal projects from initiation through completion. This role provides direction on projects to leadership and project team members.
PGD EOSS Solar & Storage Engineering is accountable for providing the engineering and technical support for the solar and energy storage assets for the company's competitive generation subsidiary, NextEra Energy Resources. This includes managing upgrades and capital projects. The selected candidate will be a pivotal part of the team that is responsible for the project management of top existing and new reliability-related projects and upgrades, working directly with subject matter experts (SMEs), Solar and Storage Operations, Business Services, Business Management, and OEM suppliers. The individual will need to utilize project management and commercial tools to drive accountability, enforce and improve process management, and replicate engineering countermeasures to a growing fleet. Candidate will utilize a variety of formats of data inputs, select the proper variables to drive and analyze results, and interpret the output to make sound business decisions.
Responsibilities:
- Oversees a variety of large-scale projects of high complexity that span multiple stakeholder groups
- Develops detailed work plans, schedules, project estimates, resource plans, and status reports
- Secures required resources and uses formal processes and tools to manage resources, budgets, risks and project changes
- Conducts project meetings and is responsible for project tracking and analysis
- Identifies issues and challenges, measures and validates results, and implements solutions
- Provides expert information to internal and external clients on complex issues
- Creates and communicates presentation materials for report out and updates with various levels of internal and external stakeholders
- Conducts external research and stays abreast of new developments or innovative advancements pertaining to the project
- Provides coaching, leadership, and direction to project team
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned
- Demonstrate a high degree of creativity, foresight, and mature judgment in planning, organizing, and guiding extensive engineering programs and activities of outstanding novelty and/or importance
- Responsible for one or more programs of such diversity and scope to be of critical importance to overall company objectives
- Supports the team to develop, analyze, and implement predictive maintenance models
- Conduct root cause analyses of equipment failures, develop and implement corrective actions, validate improvement results, and drive replication opportunities (Continuous Improvement)
- Develop and implement predictive maintenance programs based on available operational data
- Analyze equipment data and develop statistical models to predict equipment failure and improve maintenance strategies
Desired Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, or similar STEM field
- Project Management Professional (PMP)
- Six Sigma Certified (Yellow Belt, Green Belt, or Black Belt)
