DESCRIPTION
AWS Training & Certification is looking for an experienced product leader who is passionate about transforming education on behalf of Amazon and its customers. As the Principal Product Manager for the AWS Training and Certification Skill Builder products, you will be responsible for the comprehensive product and marketing strategies that work backwards from the customer, considering learners at all skill levels and across all walks of life. You will envision new ways to solve customer problems, provide innovative learning experiences across modalities, and enable our customers to solve challenging business problems by upskilling their workforce. You will own defining Skill Builder product vision and strategy through deep understanding of customer needs and creative solutions that stay ahead of innovations in learning. You will also work across a team of product managers to align our overall product roadmap and promotions/offers strategy in partnership with product, program, and technology teams. You will work closely every day with developers and scientists to design and create services and technologies that support delightful learning experiences. This role works closely with executive leaders, engineering, science, and customers, and partners with AWS Field and Service teams to enable customers to innovate with AWS technology.
The successful candidate must have exceptional problem-solving skills, strong business judgement, deep technical understanding, and demonstrated experience influencing both internally, and externally at all levels as well as proven ability to execute both strategically, and tactically. This position requires a candidate who is customer focused with a passion for new, ambiguous, industry-defining projects.
Key job responsibilities
You will be responsible for understanding and articulating customer needs by audience and skill level, aligning the training and certification product and program portfolio based on customer need, and ensuring compelling customer experience and product offers. This requires:
- Data-driven analysis to define and maintain a comprehensive and compelling learning experience and product offers on Skill Builder
- Partnership across organizations and leaders to gain alignment to a single and aligned Skill Builder product strategy, and manage a roadmap to support it
- Deep engagement with product marketing to maintain the framework and effectively communicate customer value
- Strong partnership with Engineering and Science communities in delivering AI-driven and durable services and products
- Building and maintaining trust through transparent communications at all levels of the training and certification organization and stakeholders in the AWS field and services teams

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 10+ years experience owning/driving product strategy and roadmap for customer-facing backend services
- 5+ years experience presenting and defending technical design architectures and sequence diagrams for microservices-based applications to senior stakeholders
- Experience working with executive leadership to develop a robust GTM Strategy
- Strong analytical skills to understand and solve complex business problems and ability to make trade-off decisions between customer experience and time-to-market
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or other similar technical discipline or equivalent work experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 10+ years working as a technical product manager
- 7+ years of technical (software development, network development, IT, other related) experience, working directly with Engineers on product roadmaps, and features
- 5+ years experience in project management methodologies, business analysis, or process improvement
- 5+ years experience working in learning management service or technology industries
- Experience defining new KPIs to inform decision making and prioritization

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $179,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $309,900/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
