Duties
The primary responsibilities of this position involves a combination of duties including preventive maintenance, maintenance and construction. Work involves installing, modifying, repairing, trouble shooting, loading and testing now and existing systems, fixtures and equipment. The following list involves includes but is not limited to the incumbent's responsibility to maintain equipment and services:
- Motor controls, and motor control centers
- Elevators and dumbwaiters; dietetic equipment; electric operated parking gates; electric beds;
- Fire alarm system; nurse call system; security system; electric doors; and miscellaneous equipment.
- Work from building plans, blueprints, wiring diagrams, engineering drawings
- Repair manuals to plan and lay out the routing, placement, type size, gauge, balance, load continuity and safe operation of electrical lines, circuits, system, equipment and controls
- Determines and places distribution panels, boxes, fittings, and connections and install wiring, couplings, conduit, relays, fixtures, transforms and other electrical devices including electrical service entrances.
- The work involves troubleshooting, testing and loading new and existing electrical lines, circuits, systems and associated fixtures, controls and equipment.
- Experienced, skilled, and knowledgeable of the operation and installation of a variety of electrical systems, i.e., HIGH VOLTAGE DISTRIBUTION.
- Experienced, skilled, and knowledgeable of the operation and installation of a variety of electrical systems, i.e., emergency generator plants.
Other duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE: A specific length of training and experience is not required, but you must show evidence of training or experience of sufficient scope and quality of your ability to do the work of this position. Physical Requirements/Working Conditions: The incumbent make repairs and installations from scaffolding, ladders, platforms and other hard to reach places. This requires standing, stooping, bending, kneeling, climbing and working in tiring and uncomfortable positions. Frequently lifts and carries tools, equipment and parts weighing up to 20 pounds and less often, up to 40 pounds. Occasionally, the incumbent lifts with assistance, moderately heavy objects weighing more than 40 pounds. Incumbent must be mentally alert at all times to guard against hazards to self and others.
Working Conditions: Work is performed both inside and outside. Sometimes required to make repairs and installations in bad weather , in work areas that are noisy, dirty, dusty, and greasy; on scaffolding or cranes at heights of 30 or more feet; and , in close quarters such as manholes or attics. Occasionally exposed to the possibility of injury from falling, electrical shock, burns, and rotary device, such as electrical motors. incumbent is frequently exposed to the possibility of cuts and bruises.
Incumbent is subject to 24-hour call, if required.
