JOB SUMMARY
The HVAC Lead Installer will provide general labor as part of a team installing heating and cooling systems while ensuring an exceptional customer experience. Also while providing on the job training.
REPORTS TO
HVAC Install Sr. Manager
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Install and operate heating and cooling systems.
- Utilize tools to facilitate installation of mechanical systems.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair parts and systems to ensure proper operation
- Perform real time quality assurance to guarantee one-call resolution
- Properly remove and dispose of old equipment.
- Enter customer and job data into company systems including customer relationship management (CRM) system
- Calculate the total amount of refrigerant that will be used in an air conditioning system.
- Work directly with homeowners and building owners, maintenance workers and more.
- On site training with Apprentices and helpers.

REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Attention to Detail: HVAC systems can be precise mechanisms. Careful observation is needed.
- Mechanical Skills: HVAC installers work with complicated machines. Understanding the pieces and tools needed to maintain and install these machines is crucial.
- Being able to keep timely appointments is important to getting repeat work.
- Troubleshooting: There are many parts within HVAC systems. Being able to ascertain the root cause of a problem and test solutions is important.
- Must be friendly, approachable and a good communicator.
- Quick learner and strong willingness to learn.
- Superb work ethic.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- 1 year in the field as an Apprentice
- EPA certification
- NATE certification
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Must be able to lift, lower, push, and pull objects of up to 50 lbs. unassisted.
- Must be able to continually stand, walk, climb, ascend/descend ladders, bend, stoop, crawl, and crouch, frequently in tight spaces, for extended periods of time, in indoor and outdoor conditions.
- Must be able to continually use hands/fingers to handle, feel, utilize tools, and operate machinery.
WORK ENVIRONMENT & CONDITIONS
- Field environment including interior and exterior of customers' residential properties. May require exposure to weather conditions, dusts, and mists that may be present while working outdoors. Exposure to chemicals may occur. Use of personal protective equipment including but not limited to safety-footwear, goggles, gloves, shield, mask or respirator, and hardhats may be required.
- Must be able to drive a company vehicle and possess a valid driver license and insurable driving history.
- Must pass background screen, drug test, and motor vehicle records check.
WORK SCHEDULE
- Generally, Monday through Friday, 6:30AM to 3:30PM. Periodic on-call and night and weekend work may be required.
