General Summary of Position
The Shift Supervisor's role is to oversee all departments in the prefabrication operation to function and produce quality wall panels with timely delivery. The Shift Supervisor should bring to attention any major issues that occur during the Shift to the Department Manager.
Essential Functions
Unlock, disarm alarm and open shop.
Inform lead foreman of any changes from the day before regarding projects and material usage.
Review drawings before delivering to the shop.
Go over timecards for accuracy.
Answer questions that the shop foreman cannot.
Check shipping manifests.
Delegate duties to appropriate shop personnel in time-sensitive matters.
Check with drafting department regarding ETAs on drawings for the shop.
Work with senior management and the project management department on delivery dates for panels and job priorities.
Schedule appropriate manpower for the shop.
Fill open voids in manpower when absences occur.
Approves all hours for hourly shop employees through TimeClock Plus app.
Marginal Functions
Other duties as assigned.
Preferred Education and Experience
12+ years MIG welding experience (or a combination of pre or post-secondary education in welding and work experience).
3+ years prior experience leading teams in a manufacturing environment
Trade school/vocational education in construction/carpentry and/or general carpentry experience.
Current AWS D1.1 Certification in MIG and STICK processes.

Work Environment
The work environment will consist mainly of heavy work in a manufacturing environment. There may be some exposure to seasonal humidity and extreme heat over 85 degrees, excessive noise, and some vibration associated with the use of tools and equipment. Some hazards such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, electrical current, caustic chemical, and slippery and uneven walking surfaces exist.
Physical Requirements
Due to the physical nature of the position, employee must have full dexterity of their hands and arms.
Employee must be able to see objects close and far away
At times, multiple sounds can be heard as employee is working on job, employee must have the ability to focus on the sound in particular that is associated with the task they are completing. Employees with any sort of hearing impairment would not be considered fit for duty to perform this position.
Due to the safety sensitive nature of the position, at all times, employee must be fit for duty and not report to work under the influence of a mind altering or performance altering substance. At no time, should employee be found to be possessing or using a mind or performance altering substance while performing any Company task.
