Annual Salary Range:

$117,427.58 - $151,965.10

Your Specific Responsibilities:

Administers, directs, and supervises the activities within the Geotechnical Section including personnel supervision and assignment of tasks, development of policy, identifying research needs and coordination, performing plans reviews. Supervises employees by communicating regularly, motivating, training, evaluating, planning, and directing employees work. Performs employee evaluations, timesheet and leave approvals, and other administrative activities for personnel.

Performs plan reviews on Category 2 structures for foundation design and related geotechnical aspects, and coordinates with the districts with project and plans reviews. Assist the Construction and Maintenance offices on structures and roadway geotechnical aspects. Analyzes and resolves complex technical geotechnical challenges related to highway structures and roadways.

Develop and implement policy and manuals related to geotechnical functions. Assists in Specification revisions and reviews. Reviews and coordinates the adoption of AASHTO revisions into Department policies and manuals.

The Successful Candidate will have the following required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge of:

  • of geotechnical engineering principles and practices
  • of geotechnical and study techniques

Skills in:

  • in effective oral and written communications

Ability to:

  • to work with diverse groups of people including but not limited to designers, operators, researchers, and others
  • to manage workload to produce on time products

Licensure/Registration/Certification Requirements:

Registration as a Professional Engineer pursuant to Chapter 471, Florida Statutes.
