Aaron Enterprises, Inc., a Trenchless Utility Contractor in the Mid-Atlantic Region is accepting applications for a Shop Mechanic. Mechanics are responsible for performing scheduled maintenance and repair on equipment, including diesel engines, hydraulics and DOT regulated vehicles and performing preventive maintenance on diesel and non-diesel equipment and trucks. This position requires basic knowledge of vehicle systems to perform routine maintenance and repair. We are looking for a heavy equipment / truck mechanic with a minimum 2 years experience working with heavy construction equipment and trucks. Our skilled team of mechanics are the driving force behind our ability to meet the goals and needs of our contract schedules.

Requirements:

  • Heavy Truck and Construction Equipment Experience
  • Must Have Complete Set of Own Tools
  • Minimum 2-5 years as a Mechanic
  • Clean Driving Record
  • Working knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, pneumatic and electrical systems
  • Assist with accessing required parts and tools to perform work
  • Must be able to interact well with others and work independently, or in a team setting
  • Must possess strong work ethic and good problem-solving skills
  • Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures
  • Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job
  • Ability to work Monday through Friday 6:00AM to 4:00PM

Preferred:

  • Class 7 State Inspection License
  • CDL
  • Stick Welding Ability
  • Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office

Basic Job Functions:

  • Inspecting heavy construction equipment, attachments, heavy trucks and trailers for proper performance, and to detect faults and malfunctions
  • Diagnosing faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment to determine the extent of repair required
  • Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts, components or systems using hand and power tools
  • Testing repaired equipment for proper performance and to ensure that work meets manufacturers specifications
  • Clean, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance work on equipment
  • State Inspection of vehicles / trailers
