Position Summary:

Responsible for overseeing, maintaining and repairing HVAC equipment. Performs other general maintenance duties as assigned.

Essential Functions: Analyze, troubleshoot, install, repair, rebuild, adjust and replace mechanical equipment and other geothermal systems such as, but not limited to, bearings, motors, heat exchanges, air conditioning compressors, water and pneumatic values, humidity control units, coolers, freezers, and exhaust hoods.

  • Inspect and verify the operation and safety of all heating boilers, roof top units, air handling units and ventilation systems.
  • Prioritize, schedule and assign work in conjunction with Maintenance Supervisor.
  • Provide technical training and guidance. Assist technicians in troubleshooting systems.
  • Monitor safety practices to ensure procedures are followed.
  • Oversee, analyze, troubleshoot, install, repair, rebuild, replace and adjust pneumatic, electrical and electro-pneumatic and digital control systems.
  • Query and monitor control systems as they relate to energy management and preventative maintenance operations.
  • Interface with supervisor and director on projects and new construction.
  • Identify, provide estimates and prioritize trade related improvements to properties.
  • Investigate air quality complaints and recommend solutions.
  • Perform acceptance inspections of new construction and renovations in conjunction with facilities planning efforts.
  • Research and make recommendations for changes to technical specifications.
  • Respond to emergencies in buildings.
  • Installs, tests, maintains, and repairs machinery, equipment, and systems as scheduled or needed.
  • Performs utility and structural repairs as needed, alone or in collaboration with internal/external tradespersons.
  • Inspects, tests, and maintains records for all fire risers, sprinklers, extinguishers, fire doors, and other fire/safety-related equipment and systems.
  • Moves items within/between locations and from/to storage.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Associates Degree or formal Vocational/Technical trades training preferred.
  • Valid driver's license is required
  • Must maintain appropriate MVR Certification: HVAC
  • Minimum of 5 years of technical trades directly related work experience.
  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
