Heavy Duty Forklift Operator

Key Responsibilities

• Operate heavy-duty forklifts (typically 15,000 lbs. capacity or more) to load, unload, transport, and stack various sizes of pipe.
• Safely move pipe to and from trucks, storage racks, and designated areas using appropriate lifting techniques and equipment.
• Inspect forklifts before each use and perform routine maintenance checks; report any mechanical issues immediately.
• Ensure proper handling to prevent damage to materials, equipment, or personnel.
• Follow yard layout and inventory plans to organize and store pipe efficiently.
• Collaborate with yard supervisors, logistics personnel, and other forklift operators to ensure smooth workflow.
• Adhere to all company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and PPE requirements.
• Accurately complete paperwork, load tickets, and inventory logs as required.

Work Environment

• Outdoor yard environments.
• Exposure to varying weather conditions and noisy environments.
• May involve extended periods of sitting, standing, and operating machinery.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
• Valid Driver License
• Strong understanding of load balancing, rigging principles, and forklift capacity limits.
• Ability to read and understand load sheets, yard maps, and safety procedures.
• Physical ability to work in outdoor conditions and lift or maneuver heavy materials.
• Attention to detail and commitment to safe operation at all times.
