As a Carpenter for our Civil West District, and here in Denver, CO you will contribute to our team by:
**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS**
+ Basic layout for all craft related work to include grading.
+ Basic blueprint plans and specification.
+ Assist in advanced layout.
+ Build and erect forms for heavy civil projects (e.g. Segments, coffer dams, false work/access platforms, barrier walls, etc.)
+ Set and handle wood and metal forms for footings, walls, columns and caps of any height.
+ Erect temporary walkways and ramps.
+ Install rebar for slabs and wall construction.
+ Fasten to forms metal and plastic form liners.
+ Install wood and metal shoring and piling, including high work associated with same.
+ Work related to height, such as edge forms on elevated platforms.
+ Basic rigging knowledge.
+ General knowledge of the use of power tools.
+ Planning work to utilize optimize material use and avoid waste.
**OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES**
+ Guide unskilled laborers or semiskilled workers.
**PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS**
+ Strength to perform average lifting of up to 35 pounds to 50 pounds, from the ground to waist level.
+ Arm, hand, and finger dexterity with both hands involved in activities such as reaching, handling, and feelingand with good eyesight.
+ Should be able to navigate through the work-site on a daily basis.
+ Climbs up and down ladders, scaffolding, stairs.
+ Must be able to work in extreme temperatures, in confined spaces, high places, and in excavated areas.
+ May work around chemicals, near grinding and torching and/or near cranes and heavy equipment.
+ Work in close contact with other people.
+ Able to wear a fully body harness and tool.
+ May be required to operate area lift.
