We are seeking a skilled and experienced Ranch Mechanic to join our team. The Ranch Mechanic will be responsible for assisting with all mechanical aspects of tractors, trucks, ATV's, small equipment, and other vehicles used on the ranch. Additionally, they will provide support for the maintenance and repair of onsite stationary equipment, pumps, agricultural irrigation systems, plumbing, sprinkler systems, and other related equipment as needed.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Perform routine maintenance and repairs on tractors, trucks, ATV's, small equipment, and other vehicles used on the ranch.
Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
Conduct regular inspections to identify potential problems and address them proactively.
Collaborate with Maintenance Supervisor to schedule and prioritize maintenance tasks.
Setup, manage and update preventative maintenance programs for all equipment and vehicles as appropriate
Assist with the installation, repair, and maintenance of stationary equipment, such as pumps, agricultural irrigation systems, plumbing, sprinkler systems, and other related equipment.
Maintain accurate records of repairs, services, and inventory of parts and supplies.
Adhere to safety guidelines and protocols while working with machinery and equipment.
Qualifications/Requirement:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Currently have or is qualified to obtain a Class A non-commercial license to tow ranch trailers
Proven experience as a mechanic, preferably in a ranch or agricultural setting.
Knowledge of safe work practices around horses and other livestock
Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, including engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, and electrical systems.
Proficient in diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical issues.
Ability to use a variety of tools and equipment commonly used in mechanical repairs.
Familiarity with ranch equipment, such as tractors, trucks, ATV's, small equipment, and agricultural irrigation systems.
Excellent problem-solving and time management skills.
Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Physical Requirements: Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physically demanding tasks, and comfortable working in various weather conditions and outdoor environments.
