Metric Smart Solutions is hiring a Journeyman Bench Carpenter who can take a project from blueprint to finished product with minimal supervision. Were looking for a self-motivated millworker skilled in all woodworking hand tools and shop machinery, confident in reading architectural drawings, and committed to producing work of the highest accuracy and craftsmanship. The right candidate has a keen eye for detail, strong organizational and communication skills (English required), and a collaborative spirit. --> Core Qualifications
- Fabrication & Assembly: Build cabinets, wall panels, counters, and specialty millwork using hardwoods, plywood, MDF, and solid-surface materials.
- Blueprint & Cut-List Interpretation: Translate architectural drawings and nested cut-lists into precise layouts, cuts, and joinery solutions.
- Tool & Machine proficiency: Safely run table saws, edge-banders, planers, wide-belt sanders, and routers, performing routine maintenance and calibration.
- Quality Control: Verify dimensions to 1/16", document QA/QC checkpoints, and sign off prior to crating.
- Material Handling: Lift and maneuver panels or assemblies up to 50 lbs, following ergonomic and OSHA guidelines.
- Collaboration: Work seamlessly with project managers, installers, and other trades to keep production on schedule.
- Shop Housekeeping & Safety: Uphold OSHA safety protocols to maintain a clean, organized workspace.

--> Experience
- Experience 3 + years as a bench carpenter in commercial/architectural millwork.
- Blueprint Mastery: Read & interpret detailed shop drawings and architectural plans.
- Tool & Machine Proficiency.
- Material Expertise: Hardwood, veneer, plywood, MDF, composites, solid-surface; strong grasp of wood movement & finishing prep.
- Quality & Safety: Adhere to OSHA standards; lift/move up to 50 lbs safely.
- Workflow & Deadlines: Manage personal workflow, meet production schedules.
- Team Collaboration: Communicate clearly in English, coordinate with PMs/installers.
--> Requested: Proficient English Required, Valid Work Permit, valid drivers license.
