Maintain and repair chemical plant electrical systems, plant primary and secondary power lines, overhead power distribution systems, building facilities and equipment. Provides maintenance and construction support for all type of electrical systems in fine chemical and pharmaceutical production plants, pilot plants and laboratories and their supporting utilities.
Maintains and repairs plant electrical systems, overhead distribution lines, building facilities and equipment including the testing, repair and modification of plant of electrical systems and equipment. Locates and corrects electrical trouble involving such units as overhead transformers, pole top disconnects, generators, motors (includes rebuilding, and replacing associated bearings), transformers, switches, controls, electrical fixtures, circuit breakers and other plant electrical equipment. Runs power supply to plant electrically operated or controlled equipment.
Candidate will locate and correct electrical trouble involving such units as overhead transformers, pole top disconnects, generators, motors, transformers, switches, controls, electrical fixtures, circuit breakers and other plant electrical equipment. May install new electrical equipment. Uses necessary mechanical tools and equipment and test equipment required to perform work operations. May troubleshoot electronically controlled systems, including VFD's and related devices. May assist other craft under directions of the primary craft. Maintains a clean work environment in the shop and work areas. Computer use to include: entry of work orders, investigation of parts, assess manuals and training.
High school graduate or equivalent and trade or vocational school training. Four (4) years experience in industrial electrical construction and/or electrical maintenance work. Applies a working knowledge of applicable codes and ordinances. The individual filling this position must be able to read and understand wiring and circuit diagrams, instructions, and procedures. Must have mechanical and electrical skills necessary to perform the work described above.
