Construction Estimator

Staffmark is hiring a skilled and detail-oriented Construction Estimator to support one of our trusted partners. This role plays a key part in project planning by producing accurate cost estimates, coordinating with vendors and subcontractors, and ensuring bid deadlines are met. Pay Range: $40,000 - $75,000/year (based on experience)

Schedule: Monday - Friday | 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Responsibilities:

• Review architectural plans and project specifications to determine the scope of work
• Prepare detailed cost estimates, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor services
• Conduct quantity takeoffs using digital tools or manual methods
• Obtain and evaluate bids from vendors and subcontractors
• Assemble and submit competitive bid proposals within tight timelines
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to clarify requirements
• Support value engineering and cost optimization efforts
• Maintain cost history databases and pricing libraries
• Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits as needed
• Assist with project handoff to operations teams

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field (preferred)
• 3+ years of experience in construction estimating
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and pricing
• Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., PlanSwift, Bluebeam, Sage Estimating, or ProEst)
• Excellent attention to detail and time management skills
• Strong communication and negotiation abilities
• Experience with commercial, residential, or industrial projects
• Understanding of local building codes and regulations
• Occasional travel to job sites required
