This Opportunity

WSP is currently initiating a search for an Instrument Operator- Surveying for our Troy, New York office. Be involved in our Geospatial Survey team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client's objectives and solves their challenges.

Your Impact

  • Candidate can expect to be a supporting role for work on a wide variety of projects including transportation, environmental, water/wastewater, commercial, residential, solid waste, and energy from rural areas to urban areas.
  • Utilize survey instruments to perform field surveys.
  • Comply with safety guidelines and site-specific procedures which include but are not limited to, location data, statistical documentation, studies and surveys, and construction.
  • Complete training on assigned tasks.
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma.
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • 0-2+ years of experience.
  • Valid driver's license. Must successfully complete and pass WSP's Motor Vehicle screening.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently under supervision, as well as part of a team to meet business objectives.
  • Must possess a willingness to learn.
  • Ability to work outside in all climates.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others, expressing ideas effectively and professionally to a technical and non-technical audience.
  • Effective self-leadership with attention to detail, ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, follow instruction, and comply with company policies.
  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
  • Ability to work schedules conducive to project-specific requirements that may extend beyond the typical workweek.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate's Degree in closely related discipline is preferred.

Compensation: Expected Salary (all locations): $41,000.00 - $67,760.00

WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and offer for this position, based on the successful applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities and specific geographic location. WSP USA reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and may offer additional benefits and compensation, depending on circumstances and the type of work being performed not related to an applicant's sex or other status protected by local, state, and/or federal law.
