Building Engineer - Engineering & Technical Services Contract Duration: 3+ Months Pay range: $38 - 38.50/hr Location: Redmond, WA Work Type: Onsite, First 45 days are onsite, and then it will be a remote role Working Hours: 24-hour operations. 14-day cycle- starting on a Monday, work Monday, Tuesday, be off Wednesday, Thursday, work Friday, Saturday, Sunday. Then the next week it would reverse. 12-hour shift, with a half hour of expected overtime. Night shift 6 pm - 6 am Job Summary: As a Building Engineer, you will be responsible for monitoring, maintaining, and repairing the building systems operations and the performance of various areas, including plumbing, electrical, painting, roofing, heating, and cooling. Typical working day: ROC Operator is an engineering hybrid that exercises skills across many domains, including Mechanical, Electrical, Electronic, and IT. They monitor, document, log, and troubleshoot a wide variety of industrial instrumentation, mechanical equipment, electronic monitoring, metering, controlling, and signaling devices used in the operation of Building Automation Systems and Critical Environments. They command and control complex HVAC, lighting, and mechanical systems. They must have a basic understanding of these types of systems. Come online, they will log in to a couple of their servers as well as their email. Turnover with the last technician. Works almost like a call center, monitoring alarms, responding to alarms remotely. Receive calls from technicians onsite, they will call technicians onsite to respond to HVAC needs. Client comfort standard needs. They will do priority escalations, such as a lab getting too hot, a fire alarm, lox oxygen. They would head that IP and properly escalate and stand by for any additional support. Support mechanical engineers Must Have Skills: Mechanical understanding of equipment operated, such as Chillers, Cooling Towers, Pumps, Air Handling Units, and Terminal Cooling Units. Fluid Dynamics and Heat Transfer Fundamentals. Ability to respond to dynamic system faults and casualties and maintain Critical Environments. Proper escalation and management of casualty events. Demonstrate extensive knowledge of energy conservation guidelines. Understand and demonstrate the ability to review equipment for optimum energy strategies. Set up and troubleshooting of current Microsoft OS and Office environments. Ability to interpret complex system reports and analyze for optimum performance. Support Mechanical Technicians on system repair/operation.
