The Building Inspector must be highly skilled and enforce building, zoning, and municipal codes for commercial and residential construction. This position reviews and interprets plans, inspects structures and projects, meets with contractors, builders, and homeowners to assist and ensure full compliance with applicable codes.
Qualifications:
High School diploma or equivalent (GED).
Proof of Citizenship and or eligibility to work in the United States.
Most possess and maintain a valid Texas Driver s License with satisfactory driving record.
Must hold a valid Texas Plumbing Inspectors License.
International Code Council certification as a Residential Combination Inspector and/or Commercial Combination Inspector or the ability to obtain within one year of employment.
Three years direct experience in Building Inspection, knowledge of Building, Plumbing, Electrical and Mechanical codes.
Must possess Flood Plain Management and CRS experience or the ability to obtain within six months of employment.
Solid experience in construction.
English usage, spelling and grammar.
Computer skills using Windows Microsoft Office, Adobe, and Internet. Special consideration for knowledge of IWorq Building Software.
Operate standard office equipment.
Communicate clearly and concisely.
Understand and follow instructions.
Prioritize and organize various assignments in order to produce efficient results.
