Mechanical Estimator

Highland Consulting Group is a National Executive search firm that specializes in placing top construction professionals.

We are recruiting for a Mechanical Estimator in the Philadelphia PA area with Commercial Mechanical construction experience. Successful candidates must have a background in estimating mechanical piping, plumbing and HVAC projects. Our client is a regional contractor that is in expansion mode and is looking to add to its staff. This contractor is a full service mechanical contractor that serves Philadelphia and nearby markets. Project mix includes commercial and light industrial projects of $3 million dollars or more. This is a permanent, on-site position with little to no travel.

Job responsibilities:

• Development of master budgets and cost models for HVAC, plumbing and piping projects.
• Provide conceptual estimates of projects.
• Provide Hard Bid Estimates of projects.
• Develop and maintain cost databases.
• Provide independent estimates of change orders.
• Develop pre-construction cost estimates.

Job Requirements:

• 3+ years of estimating experience for mechanical new build, retrofit and service projects.
• A background working with commercial HVAC, plumbing and piping projects.
• Ability to establish timelines and budgets.
• Experience with negotiated and plan and spec estimates.
• Ability to multi-task.
• Must have solid computer skills.
• A four year degree is desired, but not required.
