Assistant Electrical Designer

Top engineering firm in Phoenix, AZ is looking to add an Assistant Electrical Designer. This role will provide essential support in the creation and preparation of non-routine drawings with intricate details. Utilizing information from various sources, including rough sketches and engineering notes, you will contribute directly to the successful execution of a wide array of projects for diverse clients in the substations industry. Must be proficient in AutoCAD. MicroStation, AutoCAD Electrical and Revit are a plus. Need experience in the areas of substations such as Physical, P&C, C/S and/or NIA.

responsibilities:

• Basic understanding of design software such as: AutoCAD is a MUST. MicroStation, AutcoCAD Electrical and Revit are a plus as well as Excel to develop the design deliverables.
  
  
• Ability to learn and effectively utilize new design software programs.
  
  
• 1-3 yrs. experience working with designs for Physical, P&C, C/S and/or NIA areas.
  
  
• Ability to utilize both 2D and 3D applications to prepare engineering drawings.
  
  
• Assist in a full range of drawing production work.
  
  
• Produce project deliverables in an efficient and budget conscious manner.
  
  
• Assist with CAD drawing production and project execution.
  
  
• Printing, scanning and submitting drawing packages.
  
  
• Maintain high CAD proficiency and mastery of current CAD systems.
  
  
• Effectively use multiple application packages where necessary.
  
  
• Review and adhere to project scope, schedule and budget.
  
  
• Resource management.
  
  
• Identification of priority tasks and implementing plans of execution.
  
  
• Communicate with team and management workload.
  
  
• Maintain record of client or company CAD standards.
  
  
• Provide quality feedback of work.
  
  
• Assist in the QA/QC process.
