Mechanical Technician

Nova seeks an experienced Mechanical Technician to join our team. This role involves maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing equipment, tools, and fleet vehicles to ensure optimal operation. The ideal candidate has a strong background in electrical and mechanical systems, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively. Candidates must be able to commute to West Babylon, NY.

Key Responsibilities

Keep the maintenance room neat and organized

Parts and tools allocated in the correct designated area
Keep parts inventory updated
Maintenance and Repair:

Receive the tools from shop/job sites; update the status on HILTI ONTRACK (Broken) and update location: Warehouse, West Babylon.
Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electrical tools.
Conduct any electrical repair needed in our fleet
Keep all company assets repaired and available to use.
Update service information in Hilti OnTrack for each asset including date and job performed.
Change tool status after finishing: Operational, Broken, In repair, or retired.
Notify the Service and Maintenance Manager for pickup of fixed tools and transfer to the Shop.
Purchase all parts for repairs needed under Maintenance Manager supervision.
Keep Excel log updated with all parts purchased.
Keep the stock of parts available to continue the repair process.
Communicating with job sites about tool availability
Assist Service and Maintenance Manager with inventory management across jobsites: keeping track of all assets,
updating inventory (OnTrack Hilti application)
Tirak Motors and Hoist

Maintenance of Tirak Motors
Conduct preventive maintenance to Motors and tools to prevent downtime and equipment failures.
Perform inspection and testing on Tirak Motors and Beta Max Leo Hoist before and after repairs.
Ensure inventory is following part levels for in-house motor repairs
Miscellaneous work includes but it is not limited to tasks delegated by superiors.
Technical Skills and Knowledge

Use electrical and mechanical expertise to diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently.
Keep accurate inventory of assets and parts using OnTrack Hilti application.
Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Excel.
Ensure inventory levels are sufficient for in-house motor repairs.
Tirak certification is a plus.
Flexibility and Adaptability

Quickly learn and adapt to working with new types of equipment.
Communication and Collaboration

Communicate effectively with job sites regarding tool availability.
Collaborate with team members to ensure seamless operations.
Requirements

Proven experience as a maintenance technician, with strong electrical and mechanical skills.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Bilingual proficiency in Polish-English or Spanish-English is a plus
Must be able to commute to West Babylon, NY.
Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $26.00 - $32.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
