Project Engineer/Estimator - Heavy Civil

Job Title: Project Engineer / Estimator – Heavy Civil Construction

Job Summary: We’re looking for a motivated Project Engineer with a few years of experience working on heavy civil construction projects who is interested in moving into estimating. This role involves supporting the estimating team while applying your field knowledge of civil sitework, including wet utilities (storm, water, sewer) and earthworks/grading.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in preparing estimates for civil sitework projects

• Review project plans and specifications with an engineer’s eye

• Collaborate closely with estimators, project managers, and field teams

• Gain experience using HCSS HeavyBid software (preferred)

• Support project planning and bid preparation

Qualifications:

• A few years of experience as a Project Engineer in heavy civil construction

• Hands-on knowledge of wet utilities installation and earthworks/grading

• Strong interest in developing estimating skills

• Detail-oriented with good communication and organizational abilities

• Experience with HCSS HeavyBid software is a plus but not required
