Handyman/Property Maintenance

NOW HIRING: 1099 Handyman / Property Maintenance Technician Dallas County (Per Job + Emergency Work)

We are a property management company overseeing 100+ rental properties, mainly in Dallas County, IA (Waukee, Grimes, Clive, Urbandale, West Des Moines, etc.). Were seeking a skilled, dependable independent contractor handyman to join our team on a per-job contract basis you make your own hours!

Independent Contractor (1099) Must sign a contractor agreement
Smartphone required Work orders are sent through our maintenance app
Paid via check or Venmo after job completion

Payment Structure:

Standard jobs: $35 trip charge + cost of supplies

Larger jobs: Flat-rate labor (no trip charge) agreed upon in advance

Emergency calls: $50 trip charge (includes basic labor for urgent response)

General Handyman Tasks May Include:

Move-out punch list work

Garbage disposals

Garage repairs

Light carpentry

Caulking, grouting, drywall patching

A/C maintenance (filters, cleanouts)

Winterization of units

Basic plumbing, electrical, and appliance repair (if qualified)

Emergency Maintenance Coverage Required
You must be available to respond to emergency calls after hours/weekends. Common emergency issues include:

No heat in winter / no A/C during extreme heat

Water leaks or flooding

Sewer backups

Gas leaks

Major electrical outages

Unsecured doors/windows

Non-working toilet in single-bath homes

What You Need:

Broad maintenance experience

Your own tools

Reliable transportation

A smartphone (for receiving work orders and submitting before/after photos)

Good communication and professionalism

Ability to work independently and respond promptly
