Job Title: Engineering Technician
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Engineering Technician who specializes in the placement and soldering of components on circuit cards and sub-assemblies. The role involves fabricating wiring harnesses, which include connector pinning, de-pinning, and applying mounting hardware. These assemblies are built into single or multi-bay cabinet assemblies for delivery to Engineering or Manufacturing Production areas. The position offers the chance to work as an individual contributor within a collaborative team environment alongside Engineers, Fabricators, Draftsmen, Procurement, and Quality Inspectors.
Responsibilities
- Place and solder components on circuit cards and sub-assemblies.
- Fabricate wiring harnesses, including connector pinning, de-pinning, and applying mounting hardware.
- Build lower-level assemblies into single or multi-bay cabinet assemblies for Engineering or Manufacturing Production delivery.
- Collaborate with Engineers and other members of the Fabrication team, including Fabricators, Draftsmen, Procurement, and Quality Inspectors.
- Communicate issues verbally and in writing with design and/or process requirements to management and engineers.
Essential Skills
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in fabrication environments, including cable and wire harness SMT board fabrication or maintenance of military design product.
- Prior Certification in solder and harness capability to MIL STD requirements.
- Experience fabricating electrical equipment designed from blueprint schematics and engineering guides.
- Proficiency in utilizing software tools and Microsoft products.
- Ability to perform tasks with minimal supervision.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Solder certification to J-STD-001, IPC-7711/IPC-7721.
- Experience in procurement and acquisition of test materials.
- Experience interpreting and building test equipment engineering.
Work Environment
This position is on-site with a 4-10 schedule from Monday through Thursday, including occasional overtime. Safety shoes are required for this role.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $51.39 - $51.39/hr.
