ELECTRICAL TECHNICIAN II
JOB DESCRIPTION
General Statement of job:
It requires a mechanic or journey level knowledge of the electric trade. The Technician must be able to complete assigned tasks, work orders, and reports to Supervisors.
Work involves repairing, installing, inspecting and maintaining the electrical, communication, fire alarm and related systems in school facilities.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
- Tests malfunctioning electrical and/or electronic systems and equipment. ? Repairs, installs, inspects, services, and maintains the electrical systems in school facilities.
- Measure, cut, thread, bend, and install conduit.
- Pull wire through conduit and completes necessary repairs
- Installs and connects electrical equipment as needed
- Troubleshoot and replace damaged or broken electrical equipment .
Additional job Functions or Assigned Tasks:
- Perform other related work as required.
Minimum Training and Experience:
- Completion of High School
- Five years of experience in the Electrical Trade.
- Completion of courses or workshops in the electrical trade.
- Minimum of 3 yrs in the commercial or industrial field
- Have a valid NC driver’s license.
Minimum Qualifications or Standards Required to Perform Essential job Functions:
- Must be physically able to operate a variety of equipment and machinery including core drills, scaffolds, electrical tools, etc.
- Requires the ability to climb and maneuver on ladders, scaffolding, and/or in tight spaces.
- Be capable of performing tasks without direct supervision
- Must be able to perform daily tasks safety
Other Requirements:
- Able to perform work based on self-abilities and upon completion be acceptable in materials, workmanship, and appearance. Work should be of a technical nature and would require inspection and passing of building code laws.
