This individual will be responsible for generating monthly construction billings in AIA G702/G703 format and maintaining various job-cost-related items. This position requires an individual who is detail-oriented, organized, and self-motivated with excellent communication skills.

SUMMARY
We are looking for an experienced Construction Accountant to join our Brightline West team. This position requires an individual who is detail-oriented, organized, and self-motivated with excellent communication skills.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop project budgets, track costs, and identify variances to support project management in making informed decisions.
- Process pay applications and contractor invoices to ensure accuracy and adherence to compliance and accounting standards.
- Identify, analyze, and communicate cost variances to project controllers, providing insights for potential corrective actions.
- Prepare detailed project financial reports and analyses, and maintain clear, proactive communication with all stakeholders.
- Conduct project reconciliation and administration close-out functions, ensuring thorough financial documentation and compliance.
- Assist in internal and external audits by providing documentation, reconciliations, and explanations, as required.
REQUIRED AND PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
- Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA Preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in accounting, with at least 3 years in real estate development or construction accounting.
- Strong understanding of job costing, construction draws, and budget management.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., NetSuite, Sage, PMWeb, Procore, or similar).
- Excellent organizational and analytical skills with high attention to detail.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and analytical skills.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work in a collaborative environment.
