Position Details

POSITION: Preventive Maintenance HVAC Mechanic

SUMMARY: This position will perform HVAC duties related to basic service on the HVAC systems throughout the District. Cabling, termination of wiring and general electrical work may also be required as needed.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

The Group 1 HVAC Mechanic will be expected to perform the following tasks independently related to HVAC equipment throughout the District:

1. Perform routine preventive maintenance procedures.

2. Perform limited diagnostic repairs on all HVAC Equipment

3. Replace motors, belts and filters.

4. Perform limited piping work related to the above tasks

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

Demonstrate through training certification, or resume of past experience and references, knowledge and basic skills required for the HVAC trades, such as identifying and properly using tools, equipment and materials associated with the trade.

Previous experience in servicing HVAC equipment and systems preferred. Must be computer literate and show aptitude for automated building controls. A valid license to handle and work with refrigerant gas preferred. Must possess a current, valid Pennsylvania Drivers License. Both written and physical testing may be required as a prerequisite for qualification for this position.
