General Laborer** **Job Description** As a General Laborer, you will be assigned to a specific floor and provided with a checklist of cleaning duties. These include maintaining public restrooms, washing sinks and counters, handling garbage, refilling supplies, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, stripping linens from beds, and transporting them to the laundry chute. Making beds and performing other tasks as required are also part of the role. When cleaning patient-occupied rooms, you will introduce yourself using a conversation script, inform patients of your cleaning duties, and inquire if they need anything additional. If a patient requires assistance, you will communicate their needs to a nurse or doctor and leave a card with your name and phone number for the Environmental Services department with the patient. **Responsibilities** + Clean public restrooms, wash sinks and counters, and manage garbage. + Refill supplies and perform sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming tasks. + Strip linens from beds and transport to laundry chute. + Make beds and complete other tasks as required. + Introduce yourself to patients, inform them of cleaning duties, and inquire if they need additional assistance. + Convey patient requests to nurses or doctors and leave contact information for the Environmental Services department. **Essential Skills** + Cleaning and janitorial skills. + Housekeeping proficiency. + Excellent communication skills for interacting with patients, nurses, doctors, and the housekeeping team. + Strong customer service skills, ability to work with diverse individuals. + Ability to follow safety requirements and lift 50lbs and push 200lbs. + Punctuality, reliability, and dedication. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + No experience required. + Must be comfortable with physical tasks, including lifting heavy linen and trash bags. + Availability to work weekends and locked down shifts. + Previous hospital cleaning or housekeeping experience preferred. + Strong attention to detail. + Ability to work in a fast-paced and stressful environment. **Why Work Here?** Enjoy free medical benefits and affordable dental coverage upon direct hire. Comfort with entering patient rooms and communicating with them is essential. The role requires physical endurance and a willingness to work evening shifts, which may not coincide with public transit schedules. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Seaside, Oregon. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
