Bender Operator**
**Job Description**
This position involves working in a steel bending and fabrication metal shop, operating various machines including pyramid style profile roll equipment, plate rollers, and Rotary Draw Bending Machines such as Pines, Horn, or Coast Wallace machines.
**Responsibilities**
+ Operate rolling, forming, or bending machines.
+ Run equipment like coast wallace tube bender or similar rotary draw machines.
+ Work in the shop fabricating metal components.
+ Read and interpret blueprints to execute precise bends and formations.
**Essential Skills**
+ Experience in machine operation, particularly with rolling, forming, or bending machines.
+ Knowledge of metals and ability to read prints and a tape measure.
+ Solid math and layout skills to determine bend content, set back, nesting, and cut lengths.
+ Ability to read, write, and speak English to complete paperwork and communicate effectively with co-workers.
+ Forklift and/or loading experience is highly preferred.
+ Familiarity with machines and tools such as mandrels, dies, clamps, grinders, torches, tape measures, angle gauges, banding equipment, welders, overhead cranes, and forklifts.
+ Interest in joining Local Union after 180 days of employment.

**Work Environment**
The work environment is an industrial metal bending and fabrication shop, equipped with advanced machinery and tools, including mandrels, dies, clamps, grinders, torches, tape measures, angle gauges, banding equipment, welders, overhead cranes, and forklifts. Workers will train on the day shift for 4-6 months before transitioning to a swing shift.
Day shifts are scheduled from 5:30-2:00 or 7:30-4:00, while swing shifts are from 2:00-12:30. The shop provides modern amenities, including an air-conditioned lunchroom.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $23.38 - $33.96/hr.
