CNC Shop Foreman Job Description We are seeking a skilled and experienced CNC Shop Foreman to lead our machine shop operations. This role is crucial for ensuring the smooth functioning of our shop floor, requiring both hands-on leadership and technical expertise. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of machining experience, encompassing both manual and CNC capabilities. Responsibilities Interpret production process work instructions and technical drawings. Monitor and adjust production processes as needed. Coordinate daily tasks and adjust plans based on priorities. Delegate responsibilities and projects to team members. Train, mentor, and manage machinists. Promote and enforce safety procedures and equipment use. Resolve conflicts and miscommunications effectively. Report project status regularly to management. Essential Skills At least 5 years of machining experience, including manual and CNC capabilities. Proficient in CNC machine tools, controls, and machining processes. Strong blueprint reading and GD&T interpretation skills. Excellent math, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Conflict resolution skills. Team management and supervision. Troubleshooting and project management. Additional Skills & Qualifications Positive attitude and strong leadership presence. Ability to plan and execute part manufacturing from drawings or samples. Deep knowledge of machine shop tooling, speeds, and feeds. Strong organizational and communication abilities. Work Environment The work environment is a small machine shop that is rapidly expanding. With the recent opening of a second location, the team is expected to double in size by the end of the year. This role requires creativity and adaptability to complete projects and tasks efficiently. The shop works with various materials and machines, fostering an innovative and collaborative atmosphere. The position is on a day shift from Monday to Thursday, 7 am to 4:30 pm, and Friday from 7 am to 11 am. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Clackamas, Oregon. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $45.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
