Estimator

As an Estimator, you will generate estimates for the supply and installation of conveying and storage systems in the grain handling and storage industry. You will support a steel fabrication manufacturing environment, collaborating with customers, project managers, sales staff, and other engineers to develop pricing quotes. Your role includes reviewing customer drawings, internal blueprints, BOMs, and CAD files in AutoCAD to generate material costs. You will partner with shop leadership, construction leadership, and project management to estimate labor hours and costs. Additionally, you will help identify potential estimation software for purchase and digitize legacy estimation records. Occasional local travel (10% or less) is required, with same-day return.

Responsibilities

• Generate estimates for conveying and storage systems.
• Support a steel fabrication manufacturing environment.
• Collaborate with customers, project managers, sales staff, and engineers.
• Review customer drawings, internal blueprints, BOMs, and CAD files.
• Partner with shop and construction leadership for labor hour and cost estimation.
• Identify potential estimation software for purchase.
• Digitize legacy estimation records.
• Occasionally travel to local customers and return the same day.
• After the initial contracting period, climb ladders on tall grain elevators for field measurements.

• 1-3+ years of project management in agriculture, steel fabrication, or construction.
• 1-3+ years of prior estimation experience.
• Experience with creating spreadsheets in Excel.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD.

• 3-5+ years of project estimation experience.
• Experience supporting the agricultural industry.
• Experience managing engineering or construction projects.
• Experience working with estimation software such as Costimator.

This role is within a small, family-run company where you will wear multiple hats. The position involves minimal travel and potential fieldwork, which may include climbing ladders. You will have the opportunity to contribute to the development of the firm's estimation process and bring new ideas, including software recommendations, to the VP. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $50.00/hr.
