RESPONSIBILITIES

In this position...

As a Manufacturing Engineering Supervisor, you will lead a talented team of engineers, guiding us in the application of manufacturing principles to bring our innovative products to life. You'll be responsible for overseeing the team's efforts in ensuring our products are efficient and cost-effectively producible. This role is perfect for a proven leader who thrives on solving complex challenges, developing team members, and driving continuous improvement in a dynamic manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead Design for Manufacturability (DFM) by integrating manufacturing requirements into vehicle development, guiding the team in providing critical feedback to optimize designs for lean, assembly-friendly, and efficient production that adheres to Global manufacturing standards.
  • Oversee the analysis of Manufacturing Key Process Indicators (KPIs) and lead the implementation of corrective actions, and support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, efficiency, and product quality.
  • Guide the identification of potential process risks, direct the development and implementation of preventive measures, and lead the team in resolving complex technical manufacturing challenges.
  • Support and facilitate technology adoption and implementation, advanced manufacturing methods, and ensure the effective utilization of virtual tools for process simulation, validation, and optimization.
  • Lead cross-functional alignment with multi-functional groups (i.e., Product Development, Material Planning & Logistics, Assembly Plant) to ensure manufacturability, quality, and cost-effective production methods.
  • Oversee program financial targets for Facility, Tooling and Labor to ensure program financial targets are met.
  • Foster Continuous Improvement by leading the evaluation of "Lessons Learned" from new model launches, direct the implementation of "Prevent Reoccurrence Actions" into future programs, and guide competitive vehicle analysis to inform strategic design and process improvements.
  • Team Leadership & Development: Provide leadership, mentorship, and technical guidance to a team of manufacturing engineers, fostering a culture of high performance, collaboration, and continuous learning.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • B.S. Engineering- Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience or similar related technical field; or foreign equivalency degree, or a combination of equivalent experience and education
  • 8-10 years of experience in Manufacturing Engineering
  • Proven ability to manage projects from concept to manufacturing launches.
  • Experience leading, mentoring, and developing engineering teams.
  • Understanding and practical application of Lean Manufacturing principles and methodologies.
  • Ability to implement manufacturing strategies, contributing to long-term organizational goals.
  • Ability to lead root cause analysis and implement strategic corrective actions.
  • Proficiency in leveraging Virtual Manufacturing tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Team Center, Vis mockup) for advanced analysis and process optimization.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Experience in Failure Mode Avoidance principles and supporting quality improvement initiatives.
  • Ability to travel to support future program launch

  • Master's degree in engineering or business management or equivalent experience or similar related technical field; or foreign equivalency degree, or a combination of equivalent experience and education
  • 10+ years with two or more in a supervisory role
  • Automotive manufacturing experience.
  • Has launched a product.
